Terms

Short, because there isn’t much to hide.

Nothing can be ordered or paid for on this site yet. These terms apply from the first box we deliver.

What you’re buying.

A box of fruit, delivered weekly. Not a list of items and not a quantity. Each compartment in the box is a fixed sum of rupees that we spend on whatever is genuinely good that morning, so in a cheap week it buys more and in an expensive week it buys less but better.

You don’t choose what goes in. You name up to three fruits we will never send you, and we choose the rest. You can change that list any time before the Thursday cutoff.

The sizes and prices

What we promise, and what we don’t.

We promise

A box every Saturday you’ve paid for. Every carton checked when it arrives, and anything that fails not packed. The same standard in every size — a smaller box is smaller, never lesser.

We don’t promise

A named fruit, a weight, a piece count, or that any particular thing will be in the box. We buy what landed and what is good, and we tell you afterwards what it was.

If a piece disappoints

Send a photo and it’s replaced in your next box, or credited if you’d rather. The box is never collected.

If a fruit is unsafe for you

Put it on your never-list — that is exactly what it is for, and it is the only instruction we can act on. We can’t make a box free of anything we aren’t told about.

The guarantee in full

Paying.

A subscription is paid a month at a time, in advance — four boxes. That isn’t a preference: we commit to and pay for whole cartons of imported fruit before a single box is packed, and the money for that has to exist first.

Prices can change. A change never applies to a month you have already paid for, and you’ll be told before the next one is charged. If you don’t want it, cancel — the boxes you haven’t taken come back as cash.

Skipping, pausing and cancelling

Getting it to you.

We deliver on Saturdays across Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad, and we message you when your box leaves. We ask you once whether it’s all right to leave the box outside your door, and we go by your answer. If an address or a phone number changes, tell us before the Thursday cutoff — after that the label is printed and the route is set.

The delivery policy

Your account.

It belongs to the number you sign in with, so keep that number yours. What we hold and why is written out in full on the privacy page. We can close an account that is being used to abuse the guarantee — claiming on fruit that was fine, repeatedly — and if we ever do, we refund what is unused.

What we hold about you

Who we are

The Fruit Guarantee, a fruit delivery business operating in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad, Maharashtra, India.

Governing law

Indian law, and the courts at Pune. Not because we expect to be there.

Changes to these terms

If we change something that affects what you’re paying for, you’ll be told before the next month is charged.
